The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office welcomes Deborah “Kelly” Fortune to the team as their new Grant Coordinator. Kelly brings a law enforcement perspective and a business mindset to the Sheriff’s Office and will write grants to develop police-community programs and to advance new technological initiatives.

Kelly earned her Master’s degree in Criminal Justice Leadership and Management from Sam Houston State University and achieved Master Peace Officer Licensure from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.
In her most recent assignments, Kelly worked as a senior fraud investigator for Texas as well as UnitedHealthcare and Blue Cross Blue Shield. While she spent several years as a reserve commander at the Waller County Sheriff's Office, she also wrote grant proposals and managed grants for public safety programs, new technology, and protective equipment.

Kelly’s background includes investigative experience with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission and the Texas Attorney General’s Office.
